George Butler Associates, Inc. (GBA) is proud to announce a corporate restructure, new leadership and new office locations following a strategic plan for growth set forth in 2017. In the last 18 months, the firm completed three acquisitions, opened two regional offices and is hiring at a record pace. GBA is making moves as the market evolves to best serve our clients through change. In recent years, GBA acquired Compli, LLC, Jay Engineering and Rio Engineering, hired over 100 employees and took on even more work than in years past.
Restructure of GBA
GBA has a long history of providing engineering, architecture and surveying. To support the needs of clients in target markets and to innovate project delivery, the corporate structure has evolved and grown by adding a team of companies. GBA affiliates include and are led by the following: GBA – Jim Jarrett as President, Alynix – Ben Lindner as President, Compli – Greg Spanel as President, GBA Builders – Josh Reeves as President, Infrastructure Solutions – Jason Conklin as Director of Operations, GBA System Integrators – Jamie Gilbert as President and ViroCon – Pat Prendergast as President. All seven entities are now owned by a newly formed holding company, GBA Companies.
GBA Leadership Changes
In preparation for further growth and succession, GBA is excited to announce new leadership. Jim Jarrett has been appointed President of GBA. With nearly 30 years at the company, he will execute a vision for continued growth with the support of two new Senior Vice Presidents, Mike Glasker and Doug Van Meter.
Jim Jarrett is the fifth President of GBA and remembers working with George Butler during the early days of his career. Jim says, “Remembering back to the days as a young engineer, what made the most impact on me was George’s approach to teamwork and working together. It’s a core value that is a strong thread in the DNA of the company.”
GBA introduced a new Board of Directors including Mike Glasker – Chairman, Gary Beck, Heidi Thummel, Jim Jarrett, John Cooper, Les Barnt and Doug Van Meter. The holding company, GBA Companies, includes board members: Dan Abitz, Tim Ross, Shaun Kotwitz, and Vercie Lark.

The holding company, GBA Companies, now has 14 office locations including new additions in Seattle and Raleigh/Durham. With over 400 employees across the country, GBA Companies’ affiliates provide a wide variety of practical and innovative solutions. GBA Companies is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas, with regional offices in Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas and Washington.
